Applecross Country Club, Downingtown, PA – Mid-Atlantic Timberframes proudly contributed to the construction of this timber frame clubhouse at Applecross Country Club in Downingtown, PA. The hybrid structure skillfully integrates conventional roof framing with a robust timber system, showcasing 220 pieces of #1 solid-sawn Douglas fir, totaling nearly 16 tons.

The design features six modified hammer beam trusses, enhancing both the visual appeal and structural integrity of the clubhouse. Mortise-and-tenon joinery is used throughout, except for the tension-rod connections, which incorporate concealed steel plates and dowels for added stability.

This project exemplifies the timeless beauty and durability of timber frame construction, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation.
